Working Out My Brain
Been in Barrie the last few days and without cable or internet for most of them (we just had them put in last night).
So... I have reverted back to one of my first loves: READING!!!
I finished reading the first AOII Bookclub Summer '05 pick: "Skinny" by Ibi Kaslik
and my own pick: "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley
I've also re-started the Harry Potter series. In lieu of the NEW BOOK!!! "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" ... my fingers are itchin', I'm so excited...
Still badly in need of employment ...
I spent $1300 within 3 weeks...
I'm not entirely sure on what (actually, I'm completey sure, since I wrote most of it down). I am officially hermitting myself until I am employed because all I do is leech off my friends and STILL manage to spend ALL my parents money...
I wouldn't have even made $1300 in 3 weeks even IF I HAD A JOB!!!
SO DEEP IN THE RED I CAN'T EVEN DREAM IN OTHER COLOURS...

What would Norm MacDonald do?
I cannot fathom what you could have possibly spent that money on. You cannot say "food" anymore, unless you are feeding a small country! and you have no lavish gifts to show for it...nor have you been cougar-ing it up at the local "bar" if you will...which leads me only to one conclusion...you have a secret addiction to buying POGS! I'm telling Papa Kim.
So...how was "Skinny"? That word makes me cringe and as a result deters me from wanting to read that book...you may woo me now.
Please note the time. ahhhaa
I read "Skinny" too. I was not so impressed with the writing style.
I think you will like Brave New World.
Sooooooo...how was Skinny? I really want to know! or is this discussion only exclusive to book club members hmmph
Forget about Skinny, finish reading Wicked!
Hahhaha...
I liked Skinny. I liked Brave New World better. Lots of sex in it though. Kind of edgy considering it was written in the '30s!
Re: Bookclub
Even if you haven't read ANY books, you're allowed to join - as long as you leave your shoes and shirt at the door... I mean... nevermind...
I have finally finished reading Wicked I'll have you know and have recently taken up "Daughter of the Forest" and when Scratch manages to hand over "Skinny", I will read that too...and also, when Melrose manages to not "forget" "Pride and Prejudice" the next time I see her...heh heh :D, I will read that as well ;)
Melrose: you must enlighten me with your theories of the dragon time clock thingy...overall, i think i liked it :S I'm not sure because I took so long reading. I recall being impressed in the beginning and not so much by the end. meh...one out of two thumbs up isn't bad :D
