Rogers is so full of it. My internet has been down for 2 weeks now.
I called tech support. It was nearly impossible to understand the Techie's instructions because of his thick accent. I can deal with the accent - but I cannot deal with the fact that he was a Tartar!
In the end, nothing was fixed... and he claimed that it was my network card.

I plugged my laptop into my office network and it works just GREAT!
And I was informed by a darling friend that Rogers apparently issued a recall on their modems [you were supposed to get it replaced for free @ a Rogers store near you...]
TOO BAD NO ONE NOTIFIED ME!
They are CUT! And you better believe I won't be paying for the last couple weeks...
It is a matter of principle (not just my bank balance)!

Rogers sure can be a b*@#! ... last year i tried to transfer my account from london to waterloo, and they kept giving me bulls@*# excuses as to why they couldnt activate cable internet at my new place. every time i tried to contact them they would give me a new (and unrelated) reason for the "delay". i finally decided enough was enough and tried to go "straight to the top" ... it took about 2 hrs of hold time (bouncing between people) but i finally got a real answer. apparently our building wasnt properly wired to use cable internet - and our landlord refused to allow them to rewire just our apartment, and nobody else in the building wanted rogers. so we got stuck with bell sympatico (and needless to say, we went through a couple of struggles to get that working properly).
anyways - g'luck with your personal battle.
